Stephen A. Elmore, Sr. is the Founder and Managing Principal of Elmore CPAs, LLC. He is a Certified Public Accountant (licensed in Georgia and Alabama), a Certified Bank Auditor, Certified in Financial Forensics by the American Institute of CPAs, and a Chartered Global Management Accountant. As an Expert Witness, he has performed detailed analyses and quantifications necessary to proffer expert testimony on behalf of both Plaintiffs and Defendants involving complex financial, accounting and economic issues in both civil and criminal litigation proceedings. His excellent communication skills allow him to convey complex financial information to non-financial audiences like attorneys, judges and jurors. He has qualified as an expert witness in United States District Courts in Georgia and Alabama, and state courts in Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, and Ohio.
A cum laude graduate of Morehouse College in Atlanta, Georgia, Mr. Elmore also completed the Institute of Internal Auditors graduate school for Audit Directors at Rutgers University. In preparing himself for his career in Expert Witness consulting, Mr. Elmore’s 40 years of accounting and financial experience has included progressively responsible, professional positions, such as:
- Audit Manager with International Accounting Firm (7 years)
- General Auditor of Wachovia Bank of Georgia (14 years)
- Deputy General Auditor of Wachovia Corporation (14 years)
- Finance Director for an Independent Agency of the State of GA (2 years)
- Financial Consultant for Small Businesses (2 years)
Mr. Elmore has taught classes in Accounting, Auditing, Risk Management, Compliance, Lending and Financial Statement Preparation for several Community Banking Associations across the country, including Arkansas, Georgia, Louisiana and Virginia. He is currently a Board member, and serves as the “Financial Expert” and Chairman of the Audit Committee for a $400 million publicly-owned community bank holding company.
